Broome Basketball Association Rainy Season Finals come to a close after exciting preliminaries

The basketball courts at the Broome Recreation Center and Aquatic Center are buzzing with activity as teams vie for a spot in the upcoming Broome Basketball Association Rainy Day Finals on November 15th.

Boys A

In a thrilling Boys' Class A showdown, the Gansome Pointers showed their dominance by defeating the Raiders by a lopsided score of 63-37. Taj Pirrottina was the Pointers' leading scorer with an impressive 23 points, while Pascal Barnes scored 12 points. With this win, the Pointers advance to the first round of the finals, where they will face the Kings.

Men's Social Division

Pascal Barnes defeated the Misfits 40-39 in an evenly matched Men's Social Division match, with Troy Douglass of the Pipers scoring 12 points and Clinton Manado of the Misfits scoring 9 points. The two teams will meet again in the first round of the finals.

Women's Division

In the girls' division, the Sharks showed what they are made of by defeating the Luckies 36-10.Shannen King scored 14 points for the Sharks, while Tehana Connelly scored four points to lead the Carriers. The Sharks now prepare to face the Dunkers in the first round of the finals, while the Carriers prepare to face the Raiders.

Other games to watch

In another close game in the Boys' A Division, the Bad Boys edged out Odash, 31-29. Chris Hunter scored a team-high 11 points for the Bad Boys, while Odash's Jakheen Coaby scored 10 points. The two teams will meet again next week in the first round of the finals.

Kings established themselves as the dominant team in the Men's A Division with a narrow 80-41 win over the Tigers. Kings' Jarman Cox was the leading scorer with 26 points, while Tigers' Decovan Lane contributed 14 points.

In the other girls game, Nova defeated the Tigers 36-30. Kelli Small scored 17 points to lead Nova and Latoyah Lawford scored seven points to lead the Tigers. Nova continues to hold on to the top spot, while the Tigers follow in second.

In the other Boys Social Division game, the Hornets defeated the Gators 52-48. The Gators' Kyle Dantovan was the scoring leader with an impressive 27 points, while the Yellowjackets' Latrell Cibosado led the way with 17 points. The Hornets prepare to face the Gators in the first round of the finals.
